Summary: | Use of 'preempt' in task docs |
| |
The use of the term 'preempted' for the tasks that have been pause()d is confusing. I've heard various questions about it elsewhere due to a prior expectation of the meaning of the word.
Thoughts?

On 17-Jan-1999 Bruce ($user_bruce) Comments: Perhaps 'yielded' may work better since the behavior of pause() is closely related to the yielding operations in most cooperative multitasking systems. | |
